In a recent statement, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu highlighted the historical significance of Telugu Desam’s early involvement in the SC Categorization process back in 1996, which initiated with the establishment of the Justice Ramachandra Commission. He emphasized that subsequent categorizations introduced by him were later validated by a seven-judge bench in various courts. Naidu underscored the party’s principle of ensuring justice for all castes, religions, and classes proportionate to their population, stating that the Supreme Court’s affirmation of Categorization will benefit the most vulnerable individuals by facilitating progress and development.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan attributed the Supreme Court verdict to the persistent efforts of the Madiga community, particularly praising Manda Krishna Madiga for his successful legal battle. Kalyan also acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s supportive stance on reservations for Madigas during the NDA-2 tenure and the government’s commitment to attaining social justice through categorization.

The positive strides in SC classification during the NDA-2 era were lauded by various officials, including Education Minister Nara Lokesh and Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, who highlighted the potential job opportunities for individuals from Scheduled Castes. Additionally, representatives from the BJP, such as Union Minister Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, State Party President Daggubati Purandeswari, and State Health Minister Satya Kumar, commended the Supreme Court’s decision, affirming that it rectifies the prolonged struggles of marginalized communities. They praised Manda Krishna Madiga’s unwavering advocacy and expressed confidence in the Modi government’s dedication to categorization.
