Municipal administration and urban development minister Ponguru Narayana announced on Friday that according to the Amaravati Capital Master Plan, nine new cities will be established. Among these cities, there will be a health city and a sports city. The minister confirmed that the tendering process has been finalized, and the clearing of vegetation in Amaravati is scheduled to commence next Monday or Wednesday. He emphasized that the stalled Amaravati Happy Nest project will be recommenced.
Narayana revealed plans for the development of two additional roads connecting Amaravati Capital to the Chennai Kolkata Highway, apart from the existing Seed Axis Road. He highlighted that the Capital Region Development Authority has agreed to link E5, E11, E13, and E15 roads from Seed Capital to the Vijayawada-Chennai national highway.
The minister shared that tenders will be invited promptly to initiate construction of the Karakatta road, which will feature four lanes with a central divider. Furthermore, he mentioned the construction of four new iconic bridges along the inner and outer ring roads in Amaravati. Currently, there are two bridges crossing the Krishna River, with plans for another bridge to be constructed soon. Overall, there will be a total of seven bridges spanning the Krishna River, as per Narayana’s statement.
