Rapper Sooraj Cherukat, hailing from Kerala and based in Bengaluru, has recently caught the attention of Anand Mahindra. The renowned business tycoon, known for recognizing talent, commended Sooraj for his genuine music style and unfiltered videos. He expressed his belief that the young artist is making strides towards gaining global acclaim through his rap music.
In a post on X, Mahindra remarked, “It appears that there are no music genres young Indian pioneers can’t venture into…” Along with his statement, the automotive mogul shared an image of Cherukat performing at the ‘Well of Death’ and included a link to his YouTube video. Sooraj, who goes by the stage name Hanumankind, debuted at the NH7 festival, coinciding with the launch of his initial EP, ‘Kalari.’ Subsequently, he released a collaborative work titled ‘Surface Level’ with Kalmi. His most recent track, ‘Genghis,’ highlights his creative approach to visual storytelling.
