A social media post went viral claiming that Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani, the sister of Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, lost 11 Hermes bags after opting for a high-speed train in Paris instead of her private jet. Reports suggest that the stolen luxury handbags also contained valuable jewelry and watches. The incident originated from an article by Luxury Promise, a news platform, which shared a video on their official Instagram page. In the video, it was reported that a Qatar princess was robbed of 11 Hermes Bags during an incident at the Olympics. As per the video, the princess discovered her missing luggage upon boarding a TGV train, France’s high-speed intercity rail service. Despite a 20-minute search by the police on the train, neither the stolen items nor the culprits were found. The princess refuted the claims by posting the video on her Instagram story, declaring, “It was not me, fake news.”
