The long-awaited moment has finally arrived. The title of Avatar 3 has been unveiled. At the D23 expo, director James Cameron, alongside actors Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington, disclosed the official name for the third installment of the Avatar series: Avatar: Fire and Ash. While no sneak peek of footage was provided by Cameron, he did share some concept art depicting Neytiri (portrayed by Zoe) engaged in a fiery dance and riding banshees.
“You can expect to explore unseen parts of Pandora,” Cameron remarked. “It promises a thrilling adventure and a visual spectacle, yet it delves into deeper emotional depths than ever before,” he emphasized during the presentation. “We are taking the beloved characters into uncharted and demanding territories.”
The movie is scheduled for release on December 19, 2025. Avatar (2009) continues to hold the title of the highest-grossing film of all time, with its sequel, Avatar: Way of Water, hitting theaters in December 2022.
