Empowering Rural India: Deputy Chief Minister’s Initiatives for Village Development

The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that the coalition government is swiftly taking actions to rejuvenate the financial status of panchayats and promote comprehensive development in rural regions. As part of this initiative, he mentioned that gram sabhas will convene simultaneously in 13,326 gram panchayats. During these gatherings, authorities and local residents will collaborate to determine the development projects to be undertaken for the benefit of their respective villages under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. Highlighting the expenditure of ₹4,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh for the Jal Jeevan Mission, a pivotal project aimed at providing clean tap water to rural areas, Kalyan pointed out that the project’s impacts are not yet evident at the grassroots level.
