During a recent court session, it was highlighted that the government had issued an order to allocate seats under the EWS category in private colleges without increasing the total seat count. Concerns were raised that if seats were assigned under the EWS quota without expanding the overall capacity, it would negatively impact students in the open category. As a result, a plea was made to the court to intervene and halt this practice immediately. In response to the petitioner’s argument, the court issued a temporary order restraining the implementation of the directive. The court then decided to postpone further proceedings for six weeks.
