During a review meeting focused on Industries, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu revealed his plans to establish mineral-based industrial development parks in the state. He emphasized the need for these parks to be complemented by food processing, aqua, and horticulture units. Naidu urged officials to create plans for area-specific industrial parks, particularly in underdeveloped regions.
He set a target of establishing a minimum of 100 industrial parks in the state, each spanning 100 acres. Comparing to Maharashtra, which leads in the number of industrial parks, Naidu pointed out that Andhra Pradesh currently has only 53 such parks and called for a comprehensive study on expanding them.
During a presentation, officials outlined the characteristics of existing industrial parks and highlighted the upcoming port locations. Naidu stressed the importance of supporting industrialists interested in establishing units in Andhra Pradesh.
He instructed officials to revitalize the neglected Malavalli Industrial Park in Vijayawada and develop a strategy for integrated ports through Public Private Partnership (PPP). The meeting was attended by Industries Minister T.G. Bharat, MSME and SERP Minister Kondapalli Srinivas, and other senior officials.
