Industries Minister T.G. Bharath has revealed plans for the development of new industrial clusters in various districts across the state. These clusters will be established in Kuppam and Lepakshi in Sathyasai district, Moolapet in Srikakulam district, and Donakonda in Prakasam district. Notably, the Chittoor cluster is poised to attract an investment of 21,350 crore in the upcoming year.
During the Independence Day celebrations in Kurnool, Bharath emphasized the government’s commitment to driving rapid industrial growth in the region over the next five years. To achieve this vision, a comprehensive set of policies including a new industrial policy, MSME policy, food processing policy, and industrial cluster policy will be implemented, aiming to make them the most progressive in the country.
The minister highlighted the keen interest shown by numerous industries to invest in the state. A business-friendly industrial framework will be established within the next 100 days to facilitate significant investments, which are crucial for the establishment of industries and the generation of employment opportunities.
Bharath also mentioned significant investment plans by BPCL and VinFast in Andhra Pradesh, indicating a positive outlook for industrial development. Additionally, ongoing enhancements at the Orvakal Airport, such as runway extensions and night landing capabilities, along with the introduction of flight services between Vijayawada and Kurnool, are set to further boost the region’s connectivity and infrastructure.
The event saw the presence of several dignitaries including MLC Dr. A. Madhusudan, District Collector P. Ranjit Basha, MP Bastipati Nagaraju, Zilla Parishad Chairman Y. Papireddy, and SP G. Bindu Madhav among others. In a separate tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, Lokayukta Justice P. Lakshman Reddy unfurled the national flag and received a guard of honor from the police, with Upa Lokayukta P. Rajini and Registrar T. Venkateswara Reddy in attendance.
