The government of Andhra Pradesh has implemented a temporary suspension of the current prohibition on employee transfers. This suspension will be in effect from August 19 to August 31. It is important to note that this temporary lifting of the ban applies to all state government departments except for excise. Specifically, the ban on transfers within the excise department will be lifted from September 5 to September 15, as outlined in GO 75 issued by principal secretary to the government, Peeyush Kumar, on a Saturday.
The transfer window will be open to all roles that involve interactions with the public as part of their regular responsibilities. This includes departments such as Revenue (Land Administration), Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (including SERP), Municipal Administration and Urban Development, GVWV and VSWS, Civil Supplies, Mining and Geology, Endowments, Transport, EFS&T, Industries, Energy, Stamps and Registration, Commercial Taxes, Excise, and engineering staff across all departments.
According to the guidelines accompanying the GO, employees who have completed five years of continuous service at a station by July 31, 2024, will be subject to transfer. Notably, transfers carried out in alignment with the Election Commission guidelines during the general election of 2024 and subsequent re-transfers to original stations following the election process will not be considered as part of the service station count.
