Actor-director Rishab Shetty, who was honored with the Best Actor Award at the 70th National Film Awards, recently expressed his decision to move away from creating films tailored for festivals. Shetty highlighted the challenge of limited platforms for showcasing such films, noting the reluctance of OTT platforms to acquire Kannada content, leading to resorting to YouTube channels for distribution. He emphasized the lack of financial returns from these endeavors, stating he has already ventured into three festival-oriented projects and has two more, “Pedro” and “Vagachipani,” in progress. Shetty shared his motivation for undertaking these projects, citing a desire to reciprocate the industry’s support and indicated a wait-and-see approach for future endeavors.
