The city was blanketed with heavy downpours, leading to the formation of stagnant ponds in various areas. The location of manholes and roads became obscured amidst the deluge. Bhagyanagar has endured relentless heavy rainfall over the past two days, with another bout striking the city on Tuesday. The residents are still reeling from Monday’s rain, now facing yet another episode. As the rain persisted, causing waterlogging in Panjagutta, Begumpet, Banjara Hills, and Jubilee Hills, motorists found themselves navigating through knee-deep floodwaters, creating chaos on the roads. The city’s inhabitants grappled with severe disruptions, including traffic jams, prompting the GHMC authorities and DRF teams to spring into action. In areas like Secunderabad, Jawahar Nagar, Papaya Nagar, and Santhosh Nagar, homes were touched by the rain. Furthermore, substantial flooding accumulated under the railway bridge on Malakpet main road, intensifying traffic woes. Residents in Venkateswara Nagar, Indersingh Nagar, and Vaninagar faced dire circumstances as floodwaters breached their homes. In Prashanthi Nagar, the canal overflowed, spilling floodwaters onto the streets. Tragically, heavy rain in Sanatnagar led to the washing away of an individual. The city experienced a tumultuous day, marked by relentless rainfall, obscured pathways, and widespread inundation.
