TTD has made the decision to cancel the special darshan of Tirumala Srivari, as well as Srivari arjita services, break darshans, and various special darshans scheduled from October 3rd to 12th. Under the leadership of Shyamala Rao, who has made a significant impact since becoming the EO of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, several measures have been taken. Following directives from the Chief Minister, efforts have been made to ensure the cleanliness of Tirumala Hill. Extensive inspections spanning thirty days have been carried out to address various issues concerning the devotees, ranging from the quality of offerings like laddu to IT-related errors.
The recent cancellation of the special darshan of Tirumala Srivari and related services was announced in light of the upcoming Srivari Brahmotsavam. This decision aims to accommodate the anticipated increase in ordinary devotees visiting Tirumala to witness the Swami’s vehicle services during Tirumala Srivari Navahnika Brahmotsavams. Break darshans and other special darshans have been suspended during the Brahmotsavams to ensure a satisfactory darshan experience for all devotees coming to see Srivari. Additionally, special darshans for specific groups such as the elderly, disabled, and parents of young children have been put on hold during the Chakrasnanam period from October 3 to 12.
TTD has also limited VIP break darshans to protocol elites and urges devotees to understand and cooperate with these changes. In response to identified irregularities in Srivari Darshan tickets, TTD is planning to mandate Aadhaar linking for online service and darshan tickets to enhance accountability and reduce discrepancies. Collaborations with representatives from Jio and TCS are underway to enhance the efficiency of TTD’s IT system, a crucial component of its operations. Shyamala Rao is optimistic that Tirumala will undergo positive transformations in the near future while ensuring the sanctity of the site and organizing engaging programs for devotees.
