The Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2024 (July) exams are fast approaching. Scheduled to be held online from October 3 to 20, these exams will span about 18 days with two sessions each day. The morning session runs from 9:30 to 12 noon, while the afternoon session is scheduled from 2:30 to 5 pm. The School Education Department has made thorough arrangements for the smooth conduct of these examinations.
The department has confirmed that hall tickets for the TET will be accessible after September 22. Following the exams, the preliminary answer keys will be released consecutively starting from October 4, with objections accepted from October 5 onwards. The final answer key is set to be unveiled on October 27, while the results of the TET are expected to be declared on November 2. The pass marks criteria are as follows: 60% and above for OC (General) category, 50% and above for BC category, and 40% and above for SC/ST/PH/X Servicemen categories.
The application process for the Andhra Pradesh TET concluded on August 3, with a substantial 4,27,300 applicants. Notably, 1,82,609 candidates applied for Paper 1-A aimed at Secondary Grade Teachers, while 2,662 applications were received for Paper 1B, focused on Secondary Grade Teacher Special Education. For Paper 2-A Languages, earmarked for School Assistant Teacher positions, 64,036 individuals applied, and 1,04,788 applications were submitted for Maths and Science roles.
This year, with the Mega DSC boasting the highest number of posts, there has been a significant surge in participants. A Mega DSC notification will be issued post-TET to fill 16,347 teacher vacancies in the state. The Education Department, which issued the TET notification on July 2, extended the application deadline until August 3, providing a generous three-month window for exam preparation. Originally scheduled for August 5 to 20, the TET exams carry a 20% weightage in the DSC, intensifying the competition to secure higher scores.
