When we hear the name Luna, we think of the scooter of yesteryear. Many online reports said that an electric scooter will also be coming with the same name. But a new electric motorcycle has come with this name. It is manufactured by a company called Tarform. Tarform is a company run by Taras Kravtchouk, a New York City-based Swedish designer who specializes in creating eye-catching designs. This Torform has now brought an electric bike. Its name is Torform Luna. Luna is available in two avatars. They are Scrambler and Cafe Racer. These two motorcycles are very different in terms of looks but have similar underpinnings. If we look at the specs, this Luna electric bike has an 11.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It gets an air-cooled motor that produces 75PS and 60Nm of peak torque. Weighing in at 200kg, the Luna accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds. It reaches a maximum speed of 200 kmph. The battery offers a range of around 160 km in the city and can be fully charged in just 2 hours via a 220 watt charger.

In terms of looks, Luna Scrambler has a classic, uncovered headlight, spoked wheels, and off-road tires. Luna Racer resembles a sleek Cafe Racer with a half-fairing, rigid suspension, and Avance Spirit ST tires. Both models feature disc brakes. Tarform has introduced their own ‘Tarform Operating System’ which includes over-the-air updates, machine learning, and sensor technology. The blind-spot monitoring system incorporates a front-facing camera that alerts the rider to apply brakes if necessary, while the bike comes with a 3.4-inch LED display.

Tarform Luna sets itself apart by using sustainable materials like flax fiber instead of carbon fiber and algae pigment for the body paint, a first in the motorcycle industry. Even the seat is made from biodegradable alternatives like plant waste rather than genuine leather.

Although the Luna bike is currently exclusive to the US market, its innovative design and eco-friendly features are sure to make waves globally. With a starting price of Rs. 20 lakhs, the Tarform Luna offers a unique blend of sustainability and performance that sets it apart in the electric motorcycle market.
