Varun Dhawan, who launched his career through Karan Johar’s 2012 film Student of the Year, made an appearance at the premiere of his niece Anjini Dhawan’s first movie Binny And Family. Describing his presence as that of an older brother rather than just a relative, Dhawan emphasized his support for the film, stating that he was there because he found it to be of high quality. Reflecting on his own experience, he mentioned how his father never officially launched him into the industry due to familial traditions, and he expressed pride in Anjini’s independent achievement without taking any credit for her success.
Directed by Sanjay Tripathy, Binny And Family delves into the intricate dynamics among three generations in a family setting, with Anjini portraying the lead character, Binny. Dhawan expressed his wish for the audience to show Anjini the same love and appreciation that he and his father have received over the years. Acknowledging the influence of his uncle Anil Dhawan on his own acting career, Dhawan highlighted that Anjini’s casting was based solely on her talent and not due to any familial connections.
In a statement, Dhawan praised the intelligence of the younger generation, emphasizing that they are not confined to a narrow perspective but are open-minded and aware of the world around them.
