The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train boasts a range of world-class features, including austenitic stainless steel rails, valuable safety features for passengers, best-in-class interiors with P panels, aerodynamic exteriors, a modular pantry, and much more.
Key features such as special disabled berths and toilets, automatic external passenger doors, sensor-based intercommunication doors, and remotely operated fire barrier doors ensure a safe and convenient journey for all passengers. With a maximum speed of 160 kmph during service and 180 kmph during testing, the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train can accommodate up to 823 passengers across three types of berths, including AC and 3-tier berths, and first-class berths.
The unveiling of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train was a significant event, attended by Union Minister of Railways, Information-Broadcast, and IT-Electronics Ashwini Vaishnav, and Union Minister of State for Railways and Hydropower V Sommanna Vande at Bharat Earth Movers Limited, Bangalore.
