IMD Forecasts Heavy Rainfall and Gusty Winds for North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam

The IMD forecasts predict heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated locations, especially in the north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam regions. Areas such as Eluru, Anakapalli, Visakhapatnam, and Vizianagaram could experience intense downpours in the coming days.

The forecast also includes strong gusty winds, ranging from 35 to 45 km/h along the coast. Fishermen are advised to avoid going out to sea due to the expected turbulent conditions, according to the IMD. Since Tuesday, moderate rainfall has been recorded across various districts, with Kaikaluru receiving 6 cm and Vijayawada 4 cm.

On Thursday, heavy to very heavy rainfall is anticipated at isolated spots in north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, with similar conditions expected in Eluru, Anakapalli, Visakhapatnam, and Vizianagaram. On September 6, heavy rain is forecasted for one or two places in Eluru, ASR, Anakapalli, and Visakhapatnam. By September 7, isolated locations in north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam are expected to see heavy rainfall, the IMD added.
