The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is set to link various services at the Lord Venkateswara Temple, including darshan, accommodation, laddu distribution, and Srivari Seva, to Aadhaar cards. This initiative aims to improve transparency in the services provided at Tirumala.
During the “Dial Your EO” program in Tirumala on Friday, TTD Executive Officer J. Syamala Rao announced that the central government has approved this Aadhaar-based system, though the state government’s notification is still pending. Rao also highlighted recent changes aimed at benefiting devotees, such as the rationalization of laddu distribution starting August 29.
To address the issue of black market activities, TTD will now limit laddu distribution to two per Aadhaar card for ticketless devotees. Those with darshan tokens will be able to receive an unlimited number of laddus, subject to availability, plus one free laddu. These changes are intended to ensure that the sacred prasadam reaches genuine pilgrims.
Rao also outlined efforts to enhance the quality of offerings, noting changes in tender conditions for ghee to improve its quality, which directly affects the taste of the laddu.
