Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu convened a high-level meeting at the Secretariat on Friday to address quality concerns within the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), specifically focusing on reports of using impure ingredients in the production of laddus at Tirumala. He directed the TTD Executive Officer to promptly deliver a comprehensive report on the issue of ghee adulteration and its related implications.
Expressing grave concern over the presence of impurities in the Srivari Laddus, Naidu emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing the worries of devotees. He highlighted the forthcoming consultations with the Agama, Vedic, and Dharmika Parishads to ensure the sanctity of Tirumala is preserved before taking necessary actions.
Ministers Anam Ramanaraya Reddy, Nimmala Ramanaidu, Anagani Sathyaprasad, Kollu Ravindra, and Kolusu Parthasarathy urged stringent measures against those responsible, including the implicated company involved in ghee adulteration. Chief Secretary Neerabh Prasad and other senior officials were present during the comprehensive review.
On a related note, Union Minister J.P. Nadda disclosed on Friday that he had approached the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister for a detailed report on the ongoing controversy concerning the Tirupati laddu, which will be scrutinized by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
