In a shocking incident that recently came to light in Bihar’s Jamui district, an 18-year-old youth named Mitlesh Manjhi was caught parading around his village on a bicycle, posing as an IPS officer complete with a uniform and pistol. The local residents were surprised by the sight, questioning how a young man could claim such a prestigious position without even reaching adulthood.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Mitlesh had fallen victim to a job scam orchestrated by a man named Manoj Singh. Singh had promised Mitlesh an IPS job in exchange for Rs.2 lakhs and convinced him by flaunting connections to influential figures. Believing the deceit, Mitlesh gathered the money from his relatives and handed it over to Singh, who provided him with a fake uniform and pistol.
The fake IPS trainee’s antics attracted attention, leading to his apprehension by the police. Authorities swiftly delved into the matter to uncover the extent of the fraud and identify the perpetrators behind this elaborate scheme. The accused was found in possession of the fake uniform, pistol, and bike used in his charade.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of falling prey to fraudulent job offers and the importance of verifying the legitimacy of employment opportunities.
