Originating from a single farm in south-central Costa Rica, Del Monte holds the exclusive rights to produce and sell these unique pink pineapples under the trademark name PinkGlow. Cultivated in volcanic soil under tropical conditions, these rare fruits are harvested without stems, which are used to propagate new pink pineapple seeds.

While pink pineapples are predominantly available in America and Canada, select grocery stores and online platforms like Tropical Fruit Box and Melissa’s offer these coveted fruits for purchase. Each Pink Pineapple comes with a certificate of authenticity and a recipe booklet, enhancing the premium experience of indulging in this luxury fruit.

Despite their higher price tag compared to traditional pineapples, the scarcity of pink pineapples can be attributed to their two-year growth cycle and limited production at a single farm. With demand outstripping supply and patent restrictions in place, the exclusivity of pink pineapples contributes to their allure and prestige.

Pink pineapples have a shorter shelf life than yellow pineapples, lasting three days at room temperature and two days in the fridge. However, when frozen after cutting, pink pineapples can retain their quality for up to three months. Their exceptional sweetness and juiciness make them a prized ingredient in recipes or a delightful treat enjoyed fresh.

In addition to their culinary appeal, pink pineapples offer health benefits, potentially reducing the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and type 2 diabetes.
