The low pressure in the Bay of Bengal has weakened and is currently shifting towards the west-northwest direction, leading to forecasts of heavy rainfall across Telugu states. The Meteorological Department has announced the likelihood of significant precipitation, urging residents to prepare for inclement weather conditions.
In Telangana, numerous areas, including Hyderabad, have already witnessed rainfall since Wednesday night. The Meteorological Department has predicted continued showers in the region on Thursday and Friday, particularly in North Telangana where a yellow alert has been issued for 12 districts. Localities such as Jagityala, Rajanna Sirisilla, Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, and others are expected to experience heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
Similarly, Andhra Pradesh is also bracing for wet weather, with forecasts indicating light to moderate rainfall in districts like Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Visakhapatnam, and more. The AP Disaster Management Agency has advised caution in areas such as Prakasam, Nellore, Kurnool, and Anantapur, where scattered light showers are anticipated.
With the looming threat of heavy rains, residents are urged to stay updated on weather advisories and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety and well-being.
