Ranveer Singh’s much-anticipated Don 3 has hit another roadblock, raising concerns about the film’s future. Initially set to begin shooting this year, the project has been delayed yet again. While the official word from the makers, including Farhan Akhtar, is that the film will eventually go into production, industry insiders suggest that lukewarm reactions to the first look and other concerns may have forced them to reconsider.
Farhan Akhtar, busy with other projects, has also contributed to the delay. However, sources say the disappointing performance of Excel Entertainment’s recent action venture Yudhra has made the production house cautious about investing heavily in another big-budget action film.
This isn’t the only project of Ranveer’s facing difficulties. The much-anticipated remake of Shankar’s Anniyan, which was also set to star the actor, has been stalled as well. Industry observers point to high production costs, inflated by stars’ fees, as a major factor contributing to the delay in these films. With film revenues struggling to match expectations, producers and distributors are now reassessing the financial viability of big-budget projects.
Ranveer has faced a tough run in his career recently, though his last film, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, provided some respite and helped stabilize his standing in the industry.
While his professional projects may be in flux, life on the personal front is looking brighter for the actor. On September 8, Ranveer and his wife Deepika Padukone welcomed their first child, a baby girl, marking a joyful new chapter in their lives.
Fans remain hopeful that Ranveer will soon find his stride in upcoming projects while enjoying this special time with his growing family.
