CM Revanth Reddy has proposed a transformative change in the design of family digital cards, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging women as the owners of households. During a recent review at the State Secretariat, he highlighted the need to shift the focus to the woman’s role in the family structure.

Revanth Reddy’s vision includes placing the names and details of other family members on the back of the card, ensuring a comprehensive overview of the household. Drawing insights from visits to various states, officials presented a comparative analysis of family digital cards, outlining their benefits and drawbacks.

The CM instructed officials to streamline data collection for the cards, leveraging existing schemes like ration, Rajiv Arogyashri, IT, and agriculture to identify eligible families. By adopting best practices from other states and eliminating unnecessary information requirements such as bank accounts and PAN cards, the aim is to enhance efficiency and inclusivity in the system.

In a strategic move, CM Revanth Reddy directed a detailed report to be prepared for a cabinet sub-committee, headed by key ministers, to facilitate a comprehensive review and refinement of the family digital card criteria. Pilot projects in selected rural and urban areas will test the new system’s effectiveness, with a focus on meticulous door-to-door inspections for accurate data verification.

The CM’s proactive stance on overseeing the pilot projects underscores the government’s commitment to precision and accountability in implementing the updated family digital card system. With a call for thorough field inspections and dedicated officer appointments, the initiative aims to deliver error-free results and empower families across the state.
