The second Test between India and Bangladesh at the Kanpur venue was canceled due to rain on the second day without a ball being bowled. The rain started from Friday night and continued till Saturday afternoon. The umpires decided to cancel the game on the 2nd day as the field was completely wet.

The first day also got off to a late start due to earlier rain. This time the Indian captain Rohit Sharma who won the toss chose to bowl. With this, Bangladesh started the innings and scored 107 runs losing 3 wickets in 35 overs. At this point the match was stopped as Karmoda collapsed. Now the second day’s play was completely rained out.

Only three days left. But according to the weather department report, there will be rain on Sunday as well, so the match on the 3rd day is doubtful. Chances of getting results on the fourth and fifth days are very less. So the 2nd Test match is likely to end in a draw. If the Kanpur Test match ends in a draw, Team India will clinch the series. Because in the first test match held at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Team India won by 280 runs. Thus, despite the second Test match being a draw, the Indian team will take the series 1-0.

If the second Test against Bangladesh ends in a draw, India’s WTC final chances will become complicated. So far in this WTC, Team India has played 10 matches and is leading with 71.67 points. If India clean sweeps the Test series against Bangladesh 2-0, they will clinch a berth in the WTC final even if they win three of the remaining 8 matches. If the match against Bangladesh is a draw, then India will get the final berth only if they win five of the remaining eight matches.

As part of this WTC, Team India will play a three-Test series against New Zealand at home, followed by the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (five Tests) on Australian soil. Winning a series against these strong teams is not going to be easy. In addition, the Aussies are burning with revenge. So the cricket fans are hoping that Team India will fight hard and reach the WTC final without taking the upcoming matches lightly.
