The Telangana Health Department released a notification in July 2023 to fill 1,931 vacancies for various posts. The original exam date was set for November 10, 2023, but a year later, candidates are still waiting for the exam date to be disclosed. Initially, the recruitment included 1,536 positions, which was later increased to 1,931. Out of these, 1,666 posts fall under the Health and Family Welfare Commissioner, with 265 under Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad.
The Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board (MHSRB) announced on October 21, 2023, that the written examination for Multipurpose Health Worker-Female (MPHA-F) positions had been postponed. Since then, there has been no further update, leaving thousands of unemployed individuals in the dark about their future. Many hopeful candidates expressed disappointment, lamenting that after a year of anticipation, they are still unable to sit for the exam.
The announcement of this large number of vacancies generated significant interest, drawing both existing department employees and new applicants. According to the recruitment guidelines, 70 points would be allotted based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination, with up to 30 points awarded to those with experience in state government hospitals and health programs. The upper age limit was set at 49, with an exemption of up to 59 years for candidates with disabilities.
Despite this opportunity, applicants remain frustrated as they await further updates. Although the retirement age in the department is 61, there has been no progress in scheduling the exam. Candidates urge the authorities to announce a date so they can move forward with their careers.
Separately, Telangana Agricultural University has announced its counseling schedule for the 2024-25 academic year. The counseling, starting from October 14 and running through October 19, will facilitate admissions for BSc Agriculture (Hons), BSc Community Science (Hons), BTech Food Technology, BVSC, AH, and BFSC courses. Candidates are advised to check the university’s official website for detailed information regarding the counseling schedule and the documents required.
