In a significant development for the education sector, the Andhra Pradesh state government is preparing to issue the Mega DSC (District Selection Committee) notification for the recruitment of 16,347 teachers across the state. This announcement brings hope to many aspiring educators, especially from the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities.

To support this initiative, the government has declared plans to provide free training for a total of 5,050 SC and ST candidates under the auspices of the Social and Tribal Welfare Departments. This training aims to equip these candidates with the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully qualify for the DSC exams.

Free Training Program Details

The government has sought applications from interested organizations willing to provide free DSC training. To be eligible, these organizations must have conducted coaching for at least two previous DSC notifications and must have a track record of at least 100 successful candidates securing teaching positions through their training programs. Furthermore, the organizations should have a minimum three-year turnover of Rs. 40 lakhs.

Interested institutions are encouraged to submit their applications via the AP e-procurement portal by October 21. Many organizations have already expressed their willingness to offer free training, which will include provisions for accommodation, meals, and necessary study materials during the training period.

Attendance Regulations for Intermediate Students

In a related update, the Inter Board Secretary, Kritikashukla, issued an order on October 7 regarding attendance requirements for intermediate students in junior colleges across Andhra Pradesh. According to the new regulations, a minimum attendance of 75% is mandatory for regular students in both first and second years.

Students falling below this threshold will incur a delinquency fee based on their attendance percentage:

  • 60% to 65%: Rs. 2,000
  • 65% to 70%: Rs. 1,500
  • 70% to 75%: Rs. 1,000

For science students, those with attendance below 60% will be ineligible to sit for public examinations, while arts students may be allowed to take exams under private candidature conditions. These attendance regulations are also applicable to occasional students.

Conclusion

The upcoming Mega DSC notification marks a pivotal step in addressing the teacher shortage in Andhra Pradesh, providing vital opportunities for aspiring educators, particularly from marginalized communities. With free training and strict attendance regulations in place, the state government is taking significant measures to enhance the quality of education in the region.
