In an unexpected turn of events, Shruti Haasan has stepped away from the Tollywood film Dacoit, which was one of the industry’s most eagerly awaited projects. Directed by Shaneil Deo, known for his work as a cinematographer, and produced by Supriya Yarlagadda and Suniel Narang, the film had generated significant buzz with its teaser release last December. Shruti’s fierce, gun-wielding avatar had captivated fans, promising an intense cinematic experience. However, it seems the project has hit a roadblock.
When approached for comment, Shruti’s publicist explained that the actress wishes to maintain silence on the matter. “It’s a sensitive topic, and Shruti would not like to comment on it. She has always valued art and cinema, and in her entire career, she has never walked out of a film. For her, the director is the captain of the ship,” they stated. Known for her dedication and professionalism, Shruti Haasan has worked across multiple film industries, earning acclaim for her performances. She has recently appeared in several Tollywood hits, including Waltair Veerayya, Veera Simha Reddy, Hi Nanna, and the upcoming Salaar.
Rumors are circulating that Shruti’s decision to leave Dacoit was due to creative differences on set. Allegedly, actor Adivi Sesh was heavily involved in the project’s direction, which reportedly didn’t sit well with Shruti. The actress had initially signed onto the film due to Shaneil Deo’s directorial involvement, but was taken aback by Adivi Sesh’s apparent control over the creative process. Attempts to reach out to Adivi Sesh and director Shaneil Deo for their statements have so far been unsuccessful.
Fans are understandably disappointed, as Shruti Haasan’s role in Dacoit was highly anticipated. While it’s uncertain what lies ahead for the film, Shruti continues to impress with her work in Tollywood and beyond. She recently lent her voice to the track “The Devil is Waiting” for the thriller Eleven, underscoring her multifaceted talent and commitment to her craft.
