After making a splash in the streaming space with her recent projects, Ananya Panday is gearing up for a significant big-screen venture alongside Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar. Expressing her excitement, Ananya shared, “My next is a theatrical film, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone.”
The yet-untitled film, produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, will be a biopic centered around the life of lawyer and statesman C Sankaran Nair. This highly anticipated project also stars R Madhavan and is an adaptation of The Case That Shook The Empire, a book penned by Raghu Palat, who is Sankaran Nair’s great-grandson. The film aims to shed light on the pivotal case that Sankaran Nair fought against the British Raj, seeking to uncover the truth behind the tragic Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.
Initially announced in June 2021, this courtroom drama has finally received the green light for production. The film is slated for release on March 24, 2025, with Akshay Kumar expected to portray the titular role of C Sankaran Nair. While details about Ananya’s character remain under wraps, fans are eager to see how she brings this historical narrative to life on the big screen.
