Tirumala – October 21, 2024:
A significant announcement for the devotees of Tirumala Venkanna: this Diwali, a special Diwali Asthanam will be held at the Ghanta Mandapam in front of the Bangar Vakili. The festivities are scheduled for October 31, with ceremonies taking place from 7 AM to 9 AM. In the evening, at 5 PM, Shri Malayappa Swamy will grace the event alongside Sridevi and Bhudevi, participating in the Sahasra Dipalankarana Seva.
A Great Opportunity for Devotees
This year, devotees will have the unique opportunity to have direct darshan of Lord Venkanna without the usual lengthy wait times. The influx of devotees has notably decreased, allowing for a more streamlined experience. Unlike previous weeks, where darshan could take over 24 hours, the current wait time has reduced to just 6 hours.
On a recent Sunday, even with the holiday, the crowds were manageable, and devotees are currently waiting in only five compartments of the Vaikuntham Q complex for darshan. On the last count, approximately 80,741 devotees visited Swami, with 31,581 offering talanilas and prayers. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) reported an impressive income of Rs. 3.45 crores from the Srivari Hundi in gifts.
Upcoming Diwali Celebrations
The Diwali Asthana is set to be a magnificent event, showcasing the spiritual fervor of the season. As devotees gather to celebrate the festival of lights, TTD is making arrangements to ensure that the celebrations reflect the rich traditions of Tirumala. The morning ceremony will be marked by traditional rituals, followed by the evening’s Sahasra Dipalankarana Seva, where the deity will be adorned with a thousand lights, creating a mesmerizing spectacle.
This year’s Diwali offers a blessed opportunity for devotees to connect deeply with the divine and experience the beauty of the celebrations in Tirumala.
