The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) is thrilled to announce a spectacular new attraction along Vizag’s iconic Beach Road—a weekly laser and sound show at the “Victory at Sea” memorial near the YMCA. This mesmerizing display, scheduled every Sunday evening, will pay tribute to the city’s proud naval heritage, with an emphasis on the heroic 1971 naval war and Visakhapatnam’s role in India’s maritime history.

The inaugural show is set to launch on Sunday, October 27, at 7 pm, inviting both locals and tourists to experience this cultural spectacle. Combining advanced laser technology with storytelling, the show will immerse viewers in the epic tales of bravery and sacrifice that define the nation’s naval history, celebrating war veterans and honoring India’s maritime legacy.

This initiative is part of GVMC’s ambitious Smart City project, under the guidance of Commissioner P. Sampath Kumar, with Chief Engineer P. Shiva Prasad Raju overseeing the successful trial runs earlier this year. “Our goal is to create a unique cultural experience that brings our naval history to life,” said Raju.

Located at the “Victory at Sea” memorial, a beloved Vizag landmark, the laser show will showcase breathtaking visuals on the beachfront, captivating audiences with a tribute to those who served and sacrificed in service of the nation. GVMC encourages everyone to attend this weekly event and be part of a celebration that reinforces Visakhapatnam’s place as a city that honors its heritage while embracing progress.
