Andhra Pradesh’s Electronics and IT Minister, Nara Lokesh, is on a mission to boost the state’s development by inviting leading U.S. technology firms to invest in the region’s technology and manufacturing sectors. Lokesh made this call during his visit to the U.S., where he addressed the 9th Annual IT Serve Synergy Conference in Las Vegas, discussing sustainable economic growth and “investor-friendly policies” set by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu to attract foreign investment.
During the conference, Lokesh met with Indra Nooyi, former CEO of PepsiCo, and emphasized Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to renewable energy, green initiatives, and promoting women in leadership. Nooyi responded positively, expressing her willingness to support the state’s growth efforts. Lokesh further emphasized the state’s dedication to empowering its youth through educational and technological skill-building. He invited Nooyi to assist in creating mentorship programs to advance youth empowerment in Andhra Pradesh.
In a meeting with Salesforce AI CEO Clara Shih, Lokesh sought partnerships for AI-driven workforce training to prepare the Andhra Pradesh youth for roles in emerging AI industries. He urged Shih to launch programs that provide hands-on Salesforce AI training and introduce AI-powered solutions, such as the Einstein AI platform, to enhance customer relationship management and government services. The discussions also included potential collaborations on smart city projects, public safety, and urban planning initiatives.
Lokesh’s outreach demonstrates Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to leveraging advanced technology and global expertise to establish itself as a forward-looking, tech-driven economy. With support from industry leaders like Indra Nooyi and Clara Shih, the state is on track to becoming a prominent destination for innovation and investment.
