Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh recently concluded a productive tour across the United States, where he successfully captured the attention of several top-tier global companies, encouraging them to explore investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh. Lokesh highlighted that his warm reception from these companies was directly tied to the respected “CBN brand” – a nod to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s visionary leadership, which has cemented Andhra Pradesh’s reputation on the global stage.
At an event in Atlanta organized by the NTR Trust, Lokesh unveiled a statue of NTR and addressed the Telugu diaspora, whom he proudly referred to as “MRIs – the Most Reliable Indians.” He commended their unwavering support and connection to Andhra Pradesh, noting their commitment to the state’s prosperity. “Though they reside in the US, their hearts are back home,” Lokesh said, referring to the NRIs who returned to vote, spending significant amounts on travel.
Lokesh’s US tour yielded promising outcomes, including a meeting with TCS Chairman Chandrasekharan, resulting in TCS’s decision to set up a unit in Andhra Pradesh. He also secured a meeting with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, facilitated by a simple email, underscoring the strong appeal of Andhra Pradesh as a prime investment destination. Additionally, Lokesh engaged Google in discussions regarding real-time management, disaster response, urban planning, and the integration of smart cities with Google Maps. He also advocated for AI-based training programs to enhance digital education and skill development among AP’s youth.
Speaking with the Indian diaspora and the US-India Business Council representatives in San Francisco, Lokesh emphasized that Andhra Pradesh’s investor-friendly policies, robust infrastructure, and strategic coastal location make it ideal for investment. He assured that the state’s upcoming transformation into a start-up and manufacturing hub is set to attract more global investors.
Andhra Pradesh is on the path to accelerated development, thanks to strong leadership and a proactive approach to fostering international partnerships.
