In Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape, recent tensions within the three-party alliance between TDP, Janasena, and BJP have sparked a series of significant interactions. Janasena leader and Panchayati Raj Minister, Pawan Kalyan, publicly expressed his frustration with the state’s handling of law and order under Home Minister V. Anitha. His concerns stemmed from a series of incidents, particularly the disturbing rape and murder of a three-year-old girl in Tirupati on November 1, as well as unchecked social media attacks on him and alliance leaders.

During a public address in Pithapuram, Pawan Kalyan directly questioned the home ministry’s approach, warning of potential changes if security concerns were not addressed more rigorously. He raised pointed questions about the upkeep of social welfare hostels for girl students, citing recurring complaints and demanding MLA accountability, even promising to bring up the issue in the Assembly.

This assertive stance from Pawan Kalyan created waves within the alliance, fueling rumors of discontent and possible intervention by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who was set to meet with the Deputy CM. However, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stepped in swiftly, facilitating a crucial meeting between Home Minister Anitha and Pawan Kalyan to address the concerns.

In a Cabinet meeting held shortly after, Pawan clarified his position, revealing that his frustration stemmed from the social media targeting of his family and the lack of strong police action against online harassment. He also assured his colleagues that his aim was to prompt more decisive actions for public safety, not to destabilize the alliance. The Chief Minister expressed support, promising reforms to strengthen the law and order response within a month.

Following their discussion, Home Minister Anitha outlined recent steps taken to address online abuse and strengthen protective measures in the state. This timely intervention appears to have restored harmony within the alliance, alleviating concerns over a potential rift and demonstrating the unified commitment of Andhra Pradesh’s leaders to prioritize public safety and respect.
