In a memorable Children’s Day event, Hyderabad’s NCERT organized an Under-18 Mock Assembly, offering students a platform to experience the workings of a legislative assembly. Unlike typical assembly sessions marked by frequent adjournments, this session saw an uninterrupted flow of ideas, debate, and enthusiasm.

Spirited Debates and Unfiltered Dialogues

The mock assembly turned out to be a vibrant arena where students, taking on the roles of ruling and opposition members, delivered fiery speeches, raised questions, and engaged in witty verbal exchanges. The dialogues, though playful, were rich with confidence, showcasing the remarkable oratory skills of these young minds. The “MLAs” demonstrated a knack for mixing “mass” appeal with insightful “class” dialogues, all delivered with a confidence that impressed both audience and organizers alike.

A Student-Led Assembly with Purpose

Each student embodied their assigned role with dedication. The Speaker for the session maintained decorum, handling the assembly with poise and ensuring an engaging session. The mock assembly saw “bills” presented and passed, and every motion was debated passionately. While the session had a playful tone, the debates offered a glimpse of the students’ potential as future leaders.

CM Revanth Reddy’s Remarks

Prominent leader Revanth Reddy graced the event, observing the session with enthusiasm. He praised the students for their professionalism and wit, commenting on how inspiring it was to witness a productive, uninterrupted assembly session. Expressing admiration, he noted how refreshing it would be to see such commitment reflected in actual assembly and parliamentary proceedings.

This Under-18 Mock Assembly gave students a valuable opportunity to understand the importance of civic engagement, debate, and active participation. With future leaders like these, the country’s legislative future looks promising.
