On November 15, 2024, RSS Chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat inaugurated the three-day conference VIVIBHA 2024: Vision for Developed India at SGT University, Gurugram (Haryana). The event, being held for the first time in Gurugram, aims to foster focused research in the country, with an emphasis on India’s path towards development by 2047.
The conference is organized by Bharatiya Shikshan and features the participation of prominent personalities from diverse fields. Among the dignitaries were ISRO Chairman Dr. S. Somnath and Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, both of whom shared their perspectives on India’s research-driven future.
Key Highlights of the Inauguration
Dr. Bhagwat, in his address, highlighted the rich history of India’s leadership in various fields, dating back to the 16th century. He emphasized that while India once led the world in areas such as food, water, and air sustainability, the country has now faced challenges due to blind imitation of Western practices. However, he stressed that development should be viewed holistically, integrating both spiritual and material well-being. According to Dr. Bhagwat, knowledge must be accessible to all and used wisely. Technology, while essential, must also be balanced with creating meaningful employment opportunities.
Dr. Bhagwat called on the country to take inspiration from its own heritage to achieve the dream of becoming a developed nation by 2047, marking 100 years of independence.
ISRO’s Vision for India’s Future
Dr. Somnath echoed this sentiment, citing India’s Mission Chandrayaan successes as a clear indication that India is on the right track. He emphasized the importance of the role of young researchers in transforming the nation into a developed powerhouse. Dr. Somnath also outlined India’s ambition to send a man to the moon by 2040, underscoring the significance of space research in the country’s growth.
Kailash Satyarthi’s Insight
Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi shared his thoughts on the importance of education and research. He remarked that the conference’s message resonates with the Indian tradition, where happiness and growth come from sharing knowledge and wisdom. Satyarthi expressed that the event would be a milestone for the next generation of researchers to contribute to India’s future development.
Exhibition of Indian Education and Research
As part of VIVIBHA 2024, an impressive exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Somnath and Kailash Satyarthi. The exhibition highlighted India’s educational evolution, from the ancient Gurukuls to modern institutions, displaying technological advancements such as the Indian Air Force’s BrahMos missile and other defense technologies.
Additionally, the exhibition showcased traditional Indian sweets, such as the Manipur-specific jaggery, rice, sesame seeds, and dry fruit sweet, which helped promote the cultural heritage of various states.
Research Paper Competition and Recognition
The event also hosted a research paper writing competition under the banner of Sodhak Anandashalas, with participation from over 1.6 lakh students. After a thorough evaluation by 1400 experts, 1200 research papers were selected for presentation at the conference. Researchers of these selected papers were awarded certificates, highlighting their contributions to the research community.
