Borra Caves, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Ananthagiri Mandal, is struggling with severe parking challenges due to a growing influx of visitors. The situation came under scrutiny on Sunday when ZPTC member Deesari Gangaraju inspected the parking facilities and noted the worsening conditions.
Potholes on both sides of the parking area and near the toll gate have made it difficult for tourists to park their vehicles. Gangaraju urged authorities to promptly fill the potholes and level the land leading to the parking lot to ease these challenges.
Adding to the visitors’ grievances is the lack of basic amenities such as a Sulabh Complex, which tourists and residents have been requesting for a long time. Despite the toll collection from visitors, there is reportedly no designated budget to address these issues.
The inadequate parking infrastructure has also led to frequent clashes between tourists and police officers, resulting in numerous complaints. Gangaraju emphasized the urgent need for remedial actions to improve parking facilities and enhance the overall tourist experience at Borra Caves.
As the caves continue to attract large crowds, addressing these infrastructure concerns is crucial to maintaining their reputation as a must-visit destination in Andhra Pradesh.
