In an inspiring session held on Saturday, Alluri Sitaram Raju (ASR) District Collector A.S. Dinesh Kumar motivated tribal students to dream big and aim for prestigious careers, particularly in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). The event, part of the “Coffee with Collector” initiative, brought together students from Lochalaputtu Government Tribal Welfare Boys Ashram School and Talar Singhi English Medium School.
During the interactive session, Collector Dinesh Kumar shared his personal journey from humble beginnings in a farming family in Manuru village, Chennai, to his success in civil services. He emphasized the importance of hard work, dedication, and perseverance, reminding students of the stiff competition involved, with thousands vying for a limited number of civil service positions each year.
The Collector also urged the students to appreciate their parents’ hard work and sacrifices, encouraging them to remain grounded and focused on their studies. He advised them to read beyond textbooks to broaden their perspectives and develop a deeper understanding of the world.
As a token of encouragement, dictionaries and general knowledge books were distributed to the students, empowering them with resources to help in their academic and personal growth. The “Coffee with Collector” initiative will continue every Saturday, offering students an invaluable opportunity to interact with district leadership and gain insights into career opportunities and life lessons.
This programme underscores the commitment of ASR District authorities to nurture young talent and inspire the next generation of leaders, ensuring that every student, regardless of their background, dares to dream big.
