Hyderabad, November 24: The much-anticipated Telangana Group 2 exam, which has already faced three postponements, might be delayed once again due to a scheduling conflict with another major recruitment exam. Aspirants preparing for both exams are caught in a dilemma, pleading with authorities to reschedule one of them.
Group 2 Exam Dates and Schedule
The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) has scheduled the Group 2 exams on December 15 and 16, 2024. The exam spans four papers, conducted over two days:
- December 15:
- Paper 1: 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
- Paper 3: 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM
- December 16:
- Paper 2: 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
- Paper 4: 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM
At the same time, the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has scheduled the exam for Junior Engineer (JE) posts on December 16, 2024, creating a direct clash.
Impact on Candidates
Over 5.51 lakh aspirants have applied for the TGPSC Group 2 exam, while many of them have also applied for the RRB JE posts. This dual scheduling has left candidates in a tight spot, forcing them to choose between two important opportunities.
Aspirants argue that this overlap could derail months of preparation, especially for those targeting both exams. Many have appealed to the Telangana State Government and the Railway Recruitment Board to postpone one of the exams, ensuring a fair chance for all candidates.
TGPSC’s Response
TGPSC has already announced that hall tickets for the Group 2 exam will be available for download starting December 9, 2024. The recruitment drive aims to fill 783 Group 2 posts across 18 departments in Telangana. However, the commission has yet to issue an official statement addressing the clash with the RRB JE exam.
Candidates’ Plea
The uncertainty surrounding the exam dates has left candidates frustrated and anxious. Many are calling for swift action to resolve the conflict, emphasizing the need for better coordination between government agencies conducting these crucial exams.
Conclusion
With less than a month left, aspirants await clarity from both TGPSC and RRB. If a resolution is not reached soon, many candidates might have to make a difficult choice, potentially affecting their career prospects.
