Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh – In a dramatic and shocking incident, a young woman named Srilekha from Pulivendula Town, Kadapa district, jumped from a speeding RTC bus while traveling with her mother, Sulochana. The unexpected event occurred in the middle of Chakrayapet, Rayachoti, leaving passengers and bystanders stunned.

The incident unfolded while the duo was returning from Veeranjaneya Swamy Gudi at Gandi Temple, where they had gone to honor a religious ritual. Earlier, they had also visited a Swamiji near Rayachoti, believed to provide healing for mental health issues.

As the bus sped along, Srilekha, who had been sitting quietly, suddenly ran to the door and leaped out of the moving vehicle. In a heart-stopping moment, her mother, Sulochana, immediately followed her daughter in a desperate bid to save her. The entire episode happened within seconds, leaving the bus passengers in complete shock.

Passers-by and fellow travelers acted quickly, rushing both women to the Vempalli Government Hospital. While Sulochana sustained minor head injuries, Srilekha suffered severe injuries and was transferred to Kadapa RIMS Hospital for advanced treatment.

Speaking to reporters, Sulochana revealed that Srilekha had been experiencing occasional behavioral changes and health issues, which might have contributed to her sudden actions. However, the exact reason behind her impulsive leap remains unclear, even to her mother.

This alarming incident has drawn attention to the challenges families face while dealing with mental health issues and the urgent need for community awareness and support.

The local authorities are investigating the matter, and the family hopes for Srilekha’s recovery.
