Srisailam Temple: The Heart of Kartika Month Devotion
The Srisailam Shrine, one of the most revered Jyotirlinga temples in India, is witnessing a massive surge of devotees during the month of Kartika. Every year, thousands of pilgrims travel from across the country to visit this sacred site, making the temple a key destination for worship and spiritual practices. However, this significant increase in visitors has led to growing concerns over traffic congestion, especially on the Srisailam-Hyderabad highway and Srisailam Ghat Road.

Chief Minister Takes Action Amid Rising Traffic Woes
The increasing vehicular traffic has created a difficult situation for Shivayya devotees who are traveling to Srisailam for the Kartika month. To address this issue, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu personally stepped in after being briefed by officials. It was explained that the high number of visitors from neighboring states had contributed to the traffic problems on the routes leading to the temple.

In a bid to resolve these difficulties, the Chief Minister directed the authorities to take immediate measures to clear traffic on the Srisailam Ghat Road and surrounding routes. He emphasized the need for a permanent solution to the growing congestion, which has been affecting the movement of devotees and local commuters alike.

Comprehensive Study and Master Plan for Traffic Management
Chief Minister Naidu instructed officials to undertake a comprehensive study of the traffic situation to devise a permanent solution. Roads and Buildings (R&B) and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) were tasked with analyzing the traffic bottlenecks along the Srisailam-Hyderabad National Highway and creating a strategic plan to ease the flow of traffic.

The government is also planning a large-scale development around the Srisailam temple. A master plan is being created to enhance the infrastructure and facilitate better management of the influx of devotees. These plans include addressing traffic issues not only on the local roads but also improving connectivity with neighboring states to ensure smoother travel for pilgrims.

Collaborative Effort with Neighboring States
Recognizing that the issue of traffic congestion may extend beyond state borders, the Chief Minister suggested that officials reach out to neighboring states if necessary. He expressed willingness to coordinate with their governments to tackle the problem effectively and remove any obstacles that could hinder the experience of the devotees visiting the temple.

The ultimate goal is to ensure that devotees can access the Srisailam shrine without facing unnecessary hardships while promoting the growth and development of the temple’s surrounding infrastructure.
