In a single day, he met with Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekawat, CR Patil, Ashwini Vaishnav, and Nirmala Sitharaman, addressing various critical issues concerning Andhra Pradesh (AP).
Focus on Tourism and Railway Development
During his meeting with Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekawat, Pawan Kalyan discussed key aspects of boosting tourism in Andhra Pradesh. The discussions included plans for tourism projects and the establishment of a tourism university. Shekawat acknowledged the state’s potential and assured support for these initiatives.
The Deputy CM also expressed gratitude to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav for renaming the Vizag Railway Zone to the Waltheru Zone, a move that resonates with local sentiments. Additionally, Pawan Kalyan emphasized the need for halting trains at Pithapuram to accommodate the large influx of devotees from Maharashtra. He highlighted this request as a significant promise made during the Maharashtra election campaign.
Road Construction and Financial Extensions
Meeting with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Pawan Kalyan requested an extension of the deadline for completing the construction of 7,000 kilometers of roads in Andhra Pradesh. He explained that the previous government’s failure to pay matching grants had delayed the project. Sitharaman assured to review the request and provide necessary assistance.
Response to Controversial Issues
Addressing the media in Delhi, Pawan Kalyan responded to queries about the ongoing cases against director Ram Gopal Varma. He called for transparency and accountability, criticizing the delays in taking action against those responsible for harassment.
On being asked about the involvement of Adani in the state’s issues, Pawan Kalyan remarked that he would discuss the matter with AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy before making a decision.
Criticism of Previous Government
Pawan Kalyan did not hold back in criticizing the previous government, accusing it of a lack of accountability and transparency in handling state affairs. He reiterated his commitment to bringing clarity and progress to AP’s development.
Upcoming Meeting with PM Modi
The Deputy CM’s Delhi tour is set to culminate with a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, where more critical discussions about the state’s development are expected.
Pawan Kalyan was accompanied by Janasena MPs Balashauri and Uday Srinivas during his meetings, underlining the party’s collective effort to address Andhra Pradesh’s needs at the national level.
