The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has made significant decisions, addressing 21 key issues that pave the way for the state’s development. Among the highlights, the Cabinet has prioritized completing the construction of Amaravati within three years, signaling a strong commitment to the region’s progress.

Key Decisions Taken by the AP Cabinet:

  1. Amaravati Development:
    • Approval to complete Amaravati’s construction in three years.
    • Allocation of ₹33,000 crore through CRDA for 45 major projects.
    • Loans of ₹11,000 crore from HUDCO and ₹5,000 crore from Germany’s KFW approved.
  2. Polavaram Project:
    • Re-tendering of the Polavaram left canal approved.
    • Lining works for the Punganur branch canal sanctioned.
  3. Flood and Agriculture Relief:
    • Rescheduling of loans for flood-affected areas in ten districts.
    • ₹1,000 crore loan approved via Markfed for grain procurement.
  4. Energy and Infrastructure:
    • Formation of a joint venture with NTPC for clean energy investments.
    • ₹1.70 lakh crore allocated for setting up power generation units.
  5. Education and Welfare:
    • Mid-day meal program extended to 475 junior colleges across the state.
  6. Jal Jeevan Mission:
    • Minister Parthasarathy highlighted efforts to revive the scheme, noting the previous government’s inefficiencies.

Amaravati: A Step Forward

The focus on Amaravati reflects the government’s vision of creating a world-class capital city. With ₹33,000 crore earmarked for infrastructure projects, Amaravati is set to transform into a modern urban hub within three years.

Polavaram and Flood Relief

In a significant move, the Cabinet approved re-tendering of the Polavaram left canal and announced support for flood-affected regions, showcasing its dedication to disaster management and agricultural welfare.

A Discussion on Ambedkar’s Legacy

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu condemned the opposition’s misinterpretation of Union Minister Amit Shah’s comments on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
