AP Fibernet Shocks Ram Gopal Varma with Fund Recovery Notice

In a surprising turn of events, AP Fibernet Corporation has served a legal notice to controversial director Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) regarding the alleged misuse of funds allocated for his movie Vayuham. The movie Vayuham was promoted extensively by RGV before the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections. AP Fibernet has demanded that RGV and five others, including the then Fibernet MD, repay the misused amount within 15 days. The notice also states that the payments were made without proper approval from the technical committee.

GV Reddy, the current chairman of AP Fibernet, has been vocal about the irregularities:

• He alleged that the corporation’s deal with RGV to broadcast Vayuham violated established procedures.
