In a heartbreaking incident, three members of a family from Vizag lost their lives, and two others sustained serious injuries in a road accident on Tuesday at Peddakojjiria Junction, Kanchili mandal, Srikakulam district. The family was traveling to the Goddess Durga Maata temple in Jajhpur, Odisha, when their car, reportedly speeding, lost control and collided with a cement electrical pole on the roadside.
The deceased have been identified as Kadirisetti Someswara Rao (48), M Lavanya (43), and Sneha Gupta (18). The two injured family members were rushed to the government hospital in Sompeta by National Highway staff and local police, who quickly responded to the scene.
District in-charge minister Kondapalli Srinivas expressed profound shock over the tragedy and instructed Superintendent of Police Maheswar Reddy to ensure comprehensive support for the injured. Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Kinjarapu Acchennaidu also expressed sorrow over the loss and directed district officials to provide advanced medical care for the injured.
This accident has once again highlighted the critical need for adherence to road safety measures, especially while traveling on high-speed highways. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash, urging drivers to prioritize safety to prevent such devastating incidents.
The tragic loss has left the Seetammadhara community in Vizag in mourning, while the injured remain in critical care, fighting for recovery.
