A strong edict emphasizing a complete ban on child labor during holidays has been issued to all districts in the state by the AP State Child Rights Protection Commission (APSCPCR). The decision was made public on Thursday by DEO’s commission member and regional inspection officer Gondu Sitaram.

“There will be zero tolerance for any employer violating child labour laws during the holidays,” Sitaram stated. In order to guarantee that the prohibition is properly enforced, he further suggested creating special inspection teams made up of representatives from pertinent departments.

The commission has been inundated with letters, petitions, and proposals from child rights organizations, parents, and students alike, pleading for the tighter enforcement of laws prohibiting child labor on holidays. The APSCPCR, led by commission chairperson Kesali Apparao, is ready to take the appropriate legal action against violators.
