The intense rainfall in the Visakhapatnam district has resulted in significant disturbances to RTC bus operations and electricity provision in the locality on Wednesday. RTC has halted services to distant regions, such as the daily routes to Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Kakinada, and Rajamahendravaram. Additionally, the heavy downpour has impacted bus services in the Anakapalle district, particularly affecting a bridge near Vaddadi. Night services to Seeleru and Bhadrachalam have been put on hold. RTC’s manager, Andhavarapu Appalaraju, informed Deccan Chronicle that daytime service utilization has notably declined due to challenging weather conditions, including road obstructions in the Agency area caused by fallen trees and branches. Consequently, the average occupancy rate has fallen to 52 percent. The daily revenue of RTC has dwindled from an average of 198 lakh to 78 lakh over the previous five days. Furthermore, strong winds have led to power failures in Araku and neighboring areas since Monday.
