Andhra Medical College (AMC), in partnership with the Gastroenterology and Microbiology units of King George Hospital (KGH), hosted World Hepatitis Day on Beach Road this past Sunday to raise awareness among the public about hepatitis and how to prevent it. District collector Harendra Prasad stressed the significance of educating people about liver diseases, which contribute significantly to global mortality rates each year. “It is crucial for everyone to have knowledge about liver ailments such as hepatitis B and C. The hepatitis B vaccination should be given to newborns within the first 24 hours of their birth,” highlighted the collector.
