In the Alluri Sitarama Raju district, specifically in the Ananthagiri mandal, a total of eight tribal villages have been without power since the onset of the rainy season on July 20. These villages include Bonuru, Nandivalasa, Vantl amamidi, Chidimettu, Thandavalasa in Pinakota panchayat, and Jagadala mamidi, Puthika Puttu, and Seemarai in Kivarla panchayat. Despite the villagers’ hardships, they have yet to see any linemen arrive to restore the electricity connection. Bonur S.Sanyasi Rao, a resident of one of the affected villages, expressed his frustration to the Deccan Chronicle, stating that he had reached out to assistant engineer (AE) A. Ramalingam for assistance, but received no response. In response, Sanyasi Rao and representatives from the seven other villages, including M.B. Mahesh, B. Sukranna, P. Buchchanna, G. Balaraju, B. Kumar, Gangulu, and K.B. Sathya Rao, are now planning to file a formal complaint with higher authorities. When contacted by DC, AE Ramalingam explained that the power disruption was caused by the heavy rains, but assured that the situation has now been resolved and everything is operating normally again.
